Which door loops should you choose for your projects?

Which door loops should you choose for your projects?

Whether you are installing an electromagnetic handle, an electric strike or a centralised access control system, ensuring electrical continuity between the frame and the door leaf is essential. Yet the often-overlooked component in such installations is the door loop. This discreet device is nonetheless crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability and service life of your equipment.

At SEWOSY, this need is covered by a complete range of door loops adapted to the constraints of each project. But which solution should you choose: surface-mounted door loops or flush-mounted door loops? SEWOSY helps you find the most relevant option for your configuration.

What is the purpose of a door loop?

A door loop allows electrical cables to pass safely between a fixed part and a moving part – typically between the frame and the door leaf.

It prevents cables from being pinched or damaged by repeated opening and closing, while ensuring a neat, reliable and long-lasting installation.

Door loops are therefore indispensable in projects involving electromagnetic locks, electromagnetic handles, electric strikes, stand-alone keypads or access control centralised systems.

Surface-mounted door loops: for fast and versatile projects

Frequently used in renovation or wherever deep drilling is not possible, surface-mounted door loops are fixed directly onto the surface of the frame and the leaf.
This solution saves considerable installation time without compromising safety or durability.

Key references:

  • EFLEX-7: surface-mounted door loop without stainless-steel spring, ideal for quick installations. It features Zamak end caps and an integrated screw sleeve for simple, clean mounting.
  • EFLEX-10 and EFLEX1: surface-mounted door loops with stainless-steel spring and braided metal sleeve for enhanced cable protection. The EFLEX1 is supplied pre-assembled and is designed for optimum long-term durability – particularly recommended for demanding installations.
  • EFLEX-G1: 1-metre aluminium duct with end cap, designed to neatly conceal surface cables. It integrates perfectly with EFLEX door loops thanks to pre-drilled entries; installation is fast, with no additional drilling needed, helped by oblong adjustment holes.

These surface-mounted door loops are particularly suitable for multi-dwelling buildings, tertiary premises and public buildings where installations need to be brought up to standard quickly.

Flush-mounted door loops: for discreet, high-end installations

In new builds or high-spec projects, aesthetics are just as important as technical performance.
Flush-mounted door loops from SEWOSY meet this requirement by integrating directly into the frame and the leaf, making them almost invisible.

Typical models include:

  • DLMC210-N: black flush-mounted door loop with a 210 mm stainless-steel spring, designed for openings up to 110°. The sleeve offers high resistance to wear and corrosion.
  • DLMC390-N: for configurations requiring a greater opening angle, this model allows up to 180° thanks to a 390 mm spring.
  • DLS210-N and DLS390-N: versions supplied with only the stainless-steel sleeve, for projects where the installer already has the necessary fixings or specific mounting constraints.

These flush-mounted door loops are ideal when you want to combine discretion, protection of cables and high-quality finish, particularly on metal or wooden doors in prestige sites, offices or design-led environments.
