What is an electromagnetic handle?
An electromagnetic handle is a safety and access control device combining one or more electromagnetic locks with a pull handle. This all-in-one electromagnetic handle is designed to fit most door profiles. It ensures optimal locking by distributing the holding force along the full height of the door and offers a sleek, discreet design that integrates perfectly into modern architecture.
The operation of an electromagnetic handle is based on a magnetic field that attracts and holds a strike plate attached to the door, thus keeping it locked. When power is cut off through an access control system, push button, or manual call point, the magnetic field is interrupted, and the door is instantly released.

Made of aluminium profiles, they can be custom-cut and powder-coated in any RAL colour.Each handle can integrate from 1 to 4 electromagnetic locks of 300 daN each, ensuring a perfect distribution of the holding force along the door height.
All SEWOSY electromagnetic handles are NF S 61 937 certified, a French standard defining the performance of powered safety devices (DAS) used in security and evacuation systems.

Installing a CPREG® electromagnetic handle is quick and simple:
- Handle mounting – the square profile is pre-drilled on the front to access fixing holes without removing the electromagnetic locks. Coloured caps (white, black, grey) conceal the screws neatly.
- Suspension hole – allows hands-free positioning during installation.
- Wiring – connect the handle to a WATT’s AD® power supply to ensure electrical continuity and compliance with safety standards.
- Handle adjustment – the adjustable strike plates ensure perfect alignment with the electromagnetic locks. Oblong slots allow fine horizontal adjustment.
- Testing – all CPREG® electromagnetic handles are tested by SEWOSY before dispatch to ensure full functionality.
